Resistance inside the drive's published range
Values of 30, 40 and 60 ohm are published alongside the 400 W, 1000 W and 1500 W power classes. A combination outside the resistance range a drive publishes is never paired in the catalogue.
Keeping braking energy out of the DC bus
An axis that stops a high-inertia load quickly returns braking energy to the DC bus. The resistor turns it into heat and keeps the bus voltage inside the drive's working limit.
