What is stored, and why
Account identity: your name and e-mail address, so this account can exist and sign you in.
The consent record itself: the version of this notice you accepted, the IP address and browser user-agent your browser sent at the moment you accepted it, and when. This is stored specifically as proof that consent was given, to which text, and when -- it is not used for any other purpose.
Your quote basket: the products and quantities you have collected for a request for quotation.
Your favourites: the products you have marked, so you can find them again.
Your download log: which product documents you downloaded while signed in, kept for 24 months and then deleted automatically. Downloads made while signed out are never logged at all.
For dealer accounts only: your order requests, and your price and stock questions on specific products.
The registration details you give when you open the account: your company, telephone number, and -- if you choose to give them -- your job title, country, city, industry and website. Company and telephone number are required because a request cannot be answered without knowing who is asking and how to reach them; the rest is optional and the account works without it.
Where your requests came from: the IP address your connection presented when you registered, sent a request or downloaded a document, the country that address indicates, and your browser user-agent. This is kept to tell genuine requests from automated ones and to route enquiries to the right regional team. It is kept for 24 months and then deleted automatically, like the download log. The country derived this way is a technical estimate and is stored separately from any country you stated yourself -- the two are never merged.
Your rights and how to exercise them
You may delete your basket, favourites and download history immediately and yourself, at any time, from the account page.
You may request deletion of the rest of your account data from the same page; an authorised person reviews the request and tells you what was deleted and what had to be kept.
Commercial records with a statutory retention period -- orders and invoices -- carry that retention by law and are not deleted on request.
